Written by the group a Vale Royal in 1976 and released on the Island Records album of the same name in 1977

96 Degrees aka 1865 is a cult classic song which is a dramatic and musically powerful retelling of the events of the October 1865 Morant Bay Rebellion, headed by Baptist deacon and preacher Paul Bogle who led an armed group against the British authorities in Jamaica with his attack against the town of Morant Bay.

The group re-recorded this track for the Under the Magic Sun album from Cleopatra Records
